  • Counselling helps parents to focus on their children’s best interests and the impact the separation has on them.
  • Dealing with the traumatic events around separation.
  • Counselling helps individuals process the grief, loss and anger that is associated with relationship breakdown.
  • It aids parents and children to overcome fears, learn to accept the new situation.
  • Parents are assisted to effectively communicate in what is considered to be in the best interests of their children. This is achieved by dealing with and then putting aside their personal differences.
  • The sessions can be for individuals, couples or whole families.
  • Children are helped with communication skills that they find empowering to develop and use. Children are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings and the impact that their parents separation has had on them.
  • Parents engaging in counselling at an early stage in their separation are often assisted in avoiding the family court process and achieve an amicable co-parenting or parallel parenting arrangement, thereby reducing the impact on the children and risk of emotional damage to the children, through the reduction of conflict.

Everyday life can become so overwhelming and full of worry that it is hard to find any peace. However, change for the better is possible.

Sometimes, when there’s nothing else for it, marriages and relationships end in divorce or separation and couples have to go their separate ways. If you have children, it’s important that your break-up goes as smoothly as possible to have as little impact on them as you can manage.

We offer counselling and provide confidentiality, trustworthiness, respect and acceptance when seeing our clients, and we aim to make everyone as comfortable as possible during their visit.
